In addition to transferring your video to DVD and other formats, we can transfer your sound recordings to CD and other formats, too.
As you can see from this website, our primary activity here at SimplyDV’s Milton Keynes base is to transfer and convert your video tapes to DVD and other digital formats, but you may be interested to know that we can also digitally transfer your audio (sound) tapes.
We can copy your reel-to-reel or audio cassette tapes to CD or we can convert them to digital files (such as 16-bit WAV, AIFF or MP3) which you can import into a program like iTunes on your computer or into an audio editing program like Audacity or Sound Forge.
For this, we can load your reel-to-reel tapes onto our a broadcast-quality Revox B77 audio tape recorder for high quality playback. Tape cassette playback is facilitated by either our Denon or TEAC machine to ensure the best playback quality.
The resulting playback signal is passed via a Soundcraft Sound Mixer to either our Apple Mac or Windows PC capture system in order to capture full 16-bit 48kHz or 44.1kHz stereo or mono files as required.
If you just want a CD of your tape recording we can, of course, do this too. We can also save captured files (WAV, AIFF, MP3 etc) to a Memory Card which we can supply or you can bring us your own, or to a hard disc drive – such as a USB 2.0 pocket drive.
The price of this will vary according to the size of the job – but price starts at £13.00 per tape, excluding the cost of the media to which the files will be saved. Of course, the more tapes you need transferring, the better the price!
